July 23, 2007: I am making some changes to the site. I have removed Dynamic DNS Ratings page. It's very old and I am sure it is inaccurate anymore. I'm moving everything to PHP, so page names and stuff like that are changing as well. There is not much left of this site and I am not sure what the future of it would be. We'll see...

August 24, 2004: This site was moved to a new web host again.

August 11, 2004: I gave up on trying to find the time to fix my forum scripts and I went for the third-party solution - phpBB. So now I have forums again: KVTek.com Forums.

July 1, 2004: Remote IP detection for PostPro/yiPost applications is now turned off. Please use different IP detection method or switch to one of the other Dynamic DNS clients. Thank you for your understanding.

June 19, 2004: NOTICE TO ALL PostPro/yiPost USERS:

I have stopped distributing PostPro and yiPost applications several years ago. Ironically, one of the reasons for that was the popularity of those applications. They were generating a lot of traffic to my web servers. The default Remote IP detection feature requires a request to be sent to my web server in order to detect the IP address of your computer.

Even today, almost 4 years since I have suspended all the support and distribution of those applications my web site receives more than 2 million hits per week. This is several gigabytes worth of traffic every month.

The traffic generated by those applications cannot be utilized for anything on my part. I cannot place ads or do anything else with this traffic because the requests are made by application and not by actual human beings.

The bandwidth is not free and this is why I have no choice but to find a way to eliminate this "dead-weight" traffic to my web site.

I have decided that starting on July 1, 2004 I will turn Remote IP detection feature off. That means that all the PostPro and yiPost installations that rely on Remote IP detection feature will cease to detect your IP properly.

You may continue to use PostPro or yiPost if you wish with an alternative IP detection method, but I highly recommend to look for an alternative solution for you Dynamic DNS client software. A good starting point in search for your new DDNS client could be this listing: http://www.dyndns.org/services/dyndns/clients.html.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Thank you for your understanding.
